EDEN JUDO | NEWS & HIGHLIGHTS

ROAD TO SANIX JUVENILE INTERNATIONAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS, FUKUOKA JAPAN – DECEMBER 2025

We are incredibly proud to announce that two exceptionally talented young judokas from Eden — Ruwayda Fortuin (Hoekwil Primary School) and Zoe de la Croix (Holy Cross) — have been selected by Judo South Africa to attend the prestigious SANIX International Training Camp and Team Competition in Fukuoka, Japan, from 22–29 December 2025.

They will be accompanied by their coach, Lilian Steyn, who has been appointed as female team manager for the South African team.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these remarkable young athletes to train and compete against some of the best judokas in the world. Both Ruwayda and Zoe are currently ranked No. 1 in South Africa in their respective divisions — a true testament to their dedication, passion, and countless hours of hard work.

Why This Matters

Representing South Africa on the international stage is not just an athletic milestone — it’s an opportunity for personal growth, cultural exchange, and national pride.

Attending SANIX in Japan will allow them to:
✅ Train with top international coaches and athletes
✅ Gain world-class experience and exposure
✅ Inspire other young judokas in our region
✅ Represent Eden, the Western Cape, and South Africa with pride

How You Can Help

We’re raising funds to cover travel, accommodation, meals, and training expenses.
Each athlete’s estimated cost is substantial, and we need your help to make this dream a reality.

All funds will be processed through Eden Judo Association NPO – 324 740, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
Every donation — no matter how big or small — makes a difference!
